Open Gyms and Pickup Games in Maine This Week: Nov 2–8
Maine's week of Nov 2–8: new pickleball in Waldoboro, a women's hockey drop-in in Falmouth, pickup games in Old Town and Orono, and leagues closing soon.
The clocks fell back today, so most evenings this week go dark before dinner. Good news: the gyms are open. Waldoboro has new pickleball times, Falmouth has a new women's hockey drop-in, and a few league sign-ups close before next weekend.
Pickup games
Two pickleball games are on at the Old Town-Orono YMCA: Tuesday at 9 AM and Thursday at 9 AM, both set for intermediate players with plenty of open spots. On Sunday morning there's an any-level basketball game at the New Balance Student Rec Center in Orono. Don't see your sport or town? Post a game and nearby players will hear about it.
Drop-in and open gym times
Tuesday is a big day in Waldoboro: daytime open play at 9 AM and Pickleball at Nite at 6 PM, both new this week. Also new: the Women's Hockey Society drop-in scrimmage in Falmouth on Monday morning, adult pickup basketball at the Kennebec Valley YMCA in Augusta, and Wednesday pickleball at Bowdoinham Community School. Times change, so check with them before you go.
Rec leagues signing up
The Casco Bay Sports Thursday indoor pickleball league in South Portland closes sign-ups Thursday. Saturday is the deadline for the Midcoast Rec Adult B Hockey League in Rockport and the Waldo County YMCA co-ed indoor soccer league in Belfast, and Sunday for Pine Tree Curling Club's Fall Sunday League 2 in Portland. Each league has a board for finding a team or teammates.
