Pickup Games in Maine This Week: Oct 18–24
New free drop-ins in Corinna, pickup hockey in Portland, and five rec leagues closing sign-ups. Maine's games, open gyms and leagues for Oct 18–24.
Corinna just got its first drop-in times: free adult pickup basketball and pickleball at the Perfect Fit Community Center. South Portland, Bath and Portland added a stack of open gym hours too. And five rec leagues close sign-ups before Saturday, so if you've been meaning to join a team, this is the week.
Pickup games
Today at 4:30 PM there's pickleball at Brewer High School with 6 spots open, any level. Pickleball players near Old Town have two intermediate morning games at the Old Town-Orono YMCA, Tuesday and Thursday at 9 AM. Not seeing your sport? Post a game and nearby players who play it will hear about it.
Drop-in and open gym times
The new Corinna times are Sunday at 6 PM for basketball and Tuesday and Thursday at 9 AM for pickleball, both listed as free. Portland got adult co-ed pickup hockey at Troubh Ice Arena and badminton at the Greater Portland YMCA, and South Portland now has an adult volleyball open gym on Sunday afternoons. Wednesday is the busiest night for drop-ins across the state. Times change, so check with them before you go.
Rec leagues signing up
The Midcoast Rec Adult A Hockey League in Rockport starts tonight. Next up: the Damariscotta futsal league (Oct 20), The Pitch coed indoor soccer in Warren (Oct 21), Men's 4v4 basketball in Belfast (Oct 22) and the Damariscotta 3v3 co-ed basketball league (Oct 23). Each league has a board for finding a team or teammates.
